Lafarge Zambia has launched a Timange Ma Bondi campaign promotion, which means "let us build Houses". The campaign is aimed at creating opportunities for people to build houses. The lucky winners will walk away with residential plots valued at K1 million, including house designs, Bill of quantities and a total of 400 bags of cement. In addition, any consumer who buys 5 bags of cement could win instant prizes in form of bags of cement, with a total of 5,000 bags on offer!
Speaking at the launch, Lafarge Chief Executive Officer, Mr Vincent Bouckaert said Lafarge would continue to introduce innovative products and services that contribute to improving people's welfare.
"As a leader in the construction sector, Lafarge Zambia will continue to help improve people's welfare. Lafarge will continue to develop innovative products and services that make the building of people's dream houses a reality. Mr. Bouckaert further said the Timange Ma Mondi promotion was in line with the LafargeHolcim's 2030 plan which lays out the Company's sustainability strategy aimed at the attainment of the UN's Sustainable Development goals", He said.
"Lafarge Zambia is committed to achieving this ambition and we will continue to demonstrate this with clear actions that translate into real benefits for all stakeholders. Examples include Masukani house ownership programme for the local community and staff, and the $4 million LafargeHolcim Awards which promote sustainable construction across the globe. Entries for these awards still remain open until 21 March. We encourage all Zambian architects and students to take part", he explained.
The Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Hon. Jean Kapata, MP, who officiated at the launch commended Lafarge Zambia for the initiative. "The promotion aims at encouraging people to own their own land and build their own houses. This is in tandem with government policy of ensuring increased access to productive resources such as land well planned settlement and infrastructure that meet construction standards", She Said.
The Minister said this in a speech read on her behalf by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Trevor Kaunda.
The Timange Ma Mondi Promotion will run for 3 months from 20 February 2017 to 20 May 2017.
